Music

I have nothing to report, really. Am worried about my folks in the Deep South, haven't heard from Aunt M, and N hasn't come back online, which hopefully means that she's simply still with her friend in Texas. I think I might phone Aunt M, I'm sure she's alright, probably without power...

Anyways, just wanted to share that I absolutely love André Rieu's version of Ravel's Boléro, so that's what I'm listening to.

The weather is still way too Asian for my taste. I want ten degrees below average instead of above average, and I want rain. Yep. I want rain. That typical English drizzle that goes on for days and days, that's what I want and then I'll go walking in the rain. *Sigh*. According to the forecast, the weather is not cooperating with my wish *more_sighs*. Alas, maybe I should wish for something more attainable? A million dollars, perhaps?

Hurricane devastation

Well, I managed to speak to one aunt in LA, they're fine. I'm grateful that Aunt M is alright. They have no electricity or phone service, but are alright. Their home is okay, all they lost is a few trees and the roof of the garage. Their daughter is trying to get a generator to them, so they'll have some ice and cool air. Temps are exceeding 100 degrees there, with unbearable humidity. My cousin is trying her best to help with rescuing animals. Of course, the powers that be are helping with regard to people, but who thinks of the abandoned pets and livestock, but private caring people. This is just too sad. The headlines are full of stories about looters in New Orleans. What about all the people who ignore their own hurricane induced problems and work their arses off to rescue lives?????????
