Still no rain
Sep. 2nd, 2005 08:29 pmYep, that's right. We still have sunshine and it's still fairly warm. I want rain!
I noticed today, I need more hands to do all I want to do. I've taken the nearly finished cloak out, it needs ironing so I can put the clasp on it then it will be done and I can move onto the next one. Whilst it's wonderful to be sewing and any activity that's related to finishing a sewing project, I find I could do with another set of hands so I can write down the thoughts of plots coming into my head while I'm handling the needle or the pins or the iron. By the time I'm ready to take a break from sewing, I've forgotten half of the plots. *Scream*
And here I be recommending a story. It is a one shot Harry Potter fanfiction, and, surprise, surprise, the pairing is NOT SS/HG! Sara has written it, and I'm absolutely amazed with her writing skills, I sincerely hope she'll write a longer story or an original work sooner rather than later. The link is http://www.thepetulantpoetess.com/viewstory.php?sid=951 Now, pretty please be nice and leave a review. Thank you kindly :-)
I've added a picture, it's in the Islamabad/Rawalpindi Folder, but I can't figure out how to bring it here, it'll take some more practice and reading how to's, and I'm somewhat technologically challenged, sorry. If you know how to add the pic so it shows up on the actual post, pretty please let me know.
I've spoken to my aunt in LA and am very relieved that they're all okay. In Alexandria, everything is fine, although it's very crowded now, with about 10,000 refugees from down south. Aunt M is fine, too, she went back to work today. They still don't have eccletricity, but are expecting it back any time, and their home is still standing fairly soundly, although trees were uprooted and the garage roof flew off.
I've found a sewing machine to buy as well as a pair of desert boots, so all I need now is for Dorkboy to get that firm job offer *sigh*. This has become really frustrating, they like his resume, they like talking to him, they like him working for them, and then someone leaves the company, or falls ill, or goes on holiday and everything is put on hold. Ah well, this rough time will be over eventually as well. In the meantime, I have plenty to play with, as do the kids. One doing lots of writing, and the other doing lots of reading. His latest hobby is to read menus and ingredients lists, the latter if only to find out how many particularly difficult words he managed to pronounce correctly. *Snort*. Truly my son. ;-)
Oh yeah, my original work is progressing - plot set, thousands of words of notes, and finally about 2000 words written!
