600 words today. Lucius has gone shagging his woman, and [ profile] blue_paris told me in no uncertain terms how wrong it is, even though it isn't graphic. But srsly, I don't do threesomes! That's just eeeeewwwww.

Anyway, Lucius appears to have taken my Muse with him, the ratbag. I'm not impressed and might just insist on Wagner next time he's around. No, maybe not. I don't really want to suffer.

Right now I'm feeling devastated because the last thing I want to do is ask for an extension. It's 14k so far, but the action is only just starting. :-(( Which means another 10k words or more. *screams* It turned into a monster, I'm telling you. *screams some more*

Oh, I'd love to do a few more beta works. I need to take breaks from writing, and I found it makes no difference whether I use the break for beta'ing or playing word racer, so bring 'em on.

Shit, it's Friday again? *scratches head* Where did the week go????

1k words today. I'm not pleased, by any means, but it's nearly 1k words more than yesterday, so I guess that's positive. Lucius is otherwise engaged right now, so I better make the most of that. I'm glad to get a break from listening to Finlandia, no matter how beautiful it is.

In other news, the temp went up to 75 today. There I was, thinking autumn had arrived. No such luck. It's still warmer than most summer days in England.

Okay, I'm curious.

There are some SSHG stories that I've read several times because I love them. I do have an all-time favourite, which I've read at least eight times or so, and I have yet to get tired of it - it was one of the first ones I discovered. Then there are others that I initially loved, but upon re-reading quickly lost interest for all and sundry reasons. Then yet others I loved following as a WIP, but when I went to re-read once it was complete, it couldn't hold my attention.

So, I'm curious about your favourites: Your all-time favourite, the one you can read and re-read and read again, without getting tired. The more recent one you need to re-read because it's so good. And the one you love(d) following, but can't read in one sitting. And the one WIP you're currently following and expect to read again and again. Oh, and while we're at it, how about your current favourite WIP?

I'll tell you mine:

All-time favourite: Ordinary People by Hayseed. Although I must admit it's closely followed by Quillusion's Soul Searching.
The more recent one needing a re-read because it's so good: His Draught of Delicate Poison by Subvers
One I absolutely adore following as soon as a new chapter is out, but haven't managed to re-read from the start: Phantom of Hogwarts by Good_Witch
Despite knowing better, I'm following a few WIPs. Now, to follow WIPs, they must be outstanding as far as I'm concerned. There are some I read the first chapter and then put it aside and wait till it's completed. With a few, however, I have to know what happens next because I get sucked into the story from the word go. Those are:
Flight of the Prince by [ profile] southernwitch69
Where Your Treasure Is by [ profile] zeegrindylows
[ profile] dickgloucester's A Fresh Start, which has now been updated to Chapter 7
Strega Letteraria by [ profile] notsosaintly
Seven Preposterous Things by [ profile] yanniconny

I also have the honour of beta-reading Denial by [ profile] little_beloved. No list of recommendations would be complete without mentioning her works.

And then, there is my need to liken fanfic authors to composers...

Beethoven: [ profile] bambu345 because I happily read anything she writes, and it's always classy.
Bach: Melissande because her writings might make me cry, but the ending is always happy and hopeful.
Mozart: [ profile] subvers no matter how much I deny it, I enjoy it thoroughly, and the end is always thoroughly and oddly satisfying.
Rachmaninoff: [ profile] southernwitch69switching almost abruptly between pianissimo and forte, and that's what makes it utterly gorgeous, that unexpected change, yet afterwards, you ask yourself, "Oh, why didn't I see that coming???"

So, what are your favourites?
