Resisting
It's hard. Resisting a temptation is close to impossible for me. And there is the
sshg_exchange sign-up, which is a true temptation. So far, I've managed to resist. Although I may give in. *sigh* Someone send me vibes to continue to resist the lure. Please.
I've packed four boxes today. Glassware neatly packed within t-shirts and the like. The book shelves look sadly empty. Dorkboy complained about the DVDs gone. He'll just have to admire me for a few hours each night instead. I don't think he minds, his mood is still good. Or maybe that's because I was so kind and left the LOTR movies out. For another day or two.
Oh. Chapter IX of Without Magic is now with NSS.

No worse than everyone else has been to me. I am giving into the pressure. You must as well. ;)

The problem I'm having at the moment is that I'm hardly getting any reviews for my WIP. And I know that at least partly it is because I update only every four or five weeks. If I participate in the exchange, the WIP updates will again suffer. Plus, there is my intention to apply to the drabble booth at Phoenix Rising. And the whole music thing. *sigh*
*I will resist* *I will resist* *I will resist*

You will sign up for the SS/HG Exchange.

Glassware... can you send me my caipirinha (sp??) glass please? *bats eyelashes*
Is there really that much stuff?? And when are you actually moving?
no subject
Yeah, there is THAT MUCH STUFF *looks_despaired*
Haven't a clue as to the date. Sometime in September.
no subject
Okay, you'll just have to remind yourself that you're moving and won't really have the time to devote to the exchange piece. Or... well... eeek! I almost gave you a reason to give in. I'm a horrible dissuader!

I'm not quite ready to participate in NaNoWriMo yet. I might be next year. My projects this year are more along my original work, my WIP, and PR. I would love to contribute something constructive to PR.
And then, of course, there is The Move. LOL. I already gave myself an excuse on Ginny's LJ - There's that long flight. But having a macbook now, I don't need to rely on the notebook anymore. I'm still resisting Ginny's curse, although it's becoming increasingly difficult. She's one strong witch! :-)

LOL! That should be quite enjoyable. ;-) But when he still has LOTR he has some hours to watch. LOL!

I'm sort of the succumb to temptation type! ::grins::
You could moderate a panel at PR... A Niche Fic panel. That could be veery interesting.
no subject
I really should, shouldn't I....
Me moderate a panel??? *looks incredulous* You're kidding, right? That would involve me speaking. I do no such thing. To use netspeak, ZOMG, I do no such thing. In capitals. Honestly. The thought alone frightens me senseless.

You are a wonderful friend, do you know that? You challenge me to consider things I wouldn't even dream of. I feel so honoured that you take part in my life. Thank you. I hope I can repay that some day.
no subject
You never have to 'repay' anything, my friend. Just talking to you is reward in itself! I have always enjoyed our conversations, and am enriched by them.
Oh! Look! I found an icon to use just for you!

I know I cannot do it this time. I know what it takes to do the exchange. I know I don't have the time or the energy with PR coming the holidays approaching, not to mention work. (sighs)

You have continents to move to/from... you have a whole new life to settle into... and you have a book AND WM in progress and you NEEEED to finish those!
Plus there's GS100 and the drabbles, Phoenix Rising LJ to moderate/administrate.... plus doing the RL stuff with your family!
Resist, I say, REEEEESIST!
no subject
I'm probably going to do ittrying to resist... I too am moving, though your crosscontinental move... well... that's something entirely different! Best of luck to you with that. Packing is insane business.no subject
Thank you. I feel somewhat stronger this morning to resist the urge. And I think I've just had something akin to breakthrough with regard to the playing around with audio I mentioned a few days ago.

The holidays. Blast. Haven't even thought of thinking of that! Thanks for reminding me.

Would you possibly be willing to be a sounding board ::asks very nicely and respectfully::? At the moment, during the "development" stage, my greatest concern is the aesthetics. I think. What I'm keen to find out is if someone might find it appealing or not.

The Summoning? 2k words? ::I squeeeeeeeeeee:: I am so totally looking forward to reading it! It was one of the early stories I read, and I fell in love with your writing then. The story also convinced me of the HG/SS ship completely. I had read quite a few stories before, but it was The Summoning that turned me into a follower of the ship.

I'm so tickled that something I wrote enticed you into this magical, wacky world. I'm just so honored by that. Thank you.
no subject
Right now, I'm not feeling overly confident about my writing. But I've just started to re-read The Summoning, and I can almost feel the creativity flowing again. I'll spend tomorrow, between packing, reading more, and I know I'll be able to write something more inspiring again after that. I thank you for that.

You've actually brought me to tears. What a lovely thing to tell me. It's probably the nicest thing anyone's ever said about my writing. Thank you.
I do wish I had more time to spend reading everyone else's work, but I find it difficult enough to carve out a little time for mine. Sigh. One of these days, I hope... at least by then I'll be standing in line to buy one of your books and have you autograph it for me.
no subject
Time. *Sigh* And dream on about standing in line for my book. I think I'll stand in line for yours much earlier, lol.
no subject
We can swap books! I'll sign yours if you sign mine!
