I was going to post some ramblings tonight about loyalties and such. There are now two people left in this country I feel loyal to. Doors closing and opening and all that. Alas, never mind.

I checked my f-list and saw

bambu345 has updated The Summoning here. It is my all-time favourite fanfic, and the posting of another update has saved my evening. :-)

Now, tomorrow is another story. Warty, you'll recognise me by that stoopid grin on my face, no doubt. The family is cursing me - I've been listening to the PotO soundtrack for the past four hours or so.

My 3 yr old was singing 'Think of me' in the bath tonight. Methinks I've been singing it all afternoon! Ah, the fruits of summer fetes, eh?

Huh? No, my friend, I wasn't even thinking of you when I wrote the first few words!!! It was those who actively closed a door I was referring to. For some reason, many people read this journal. I don't know why, my life isn't that interesting, lol.

No, June, you are my friend, have been for a number of years, and I sincerely hope it stays that way. And I do hope you'll spend a holiday with us over there in the near future. :-) I know I owe you a mail. Things have been mad lately, and I'll get to it in the next day or two.

Thank you for the hugs. 'Tis a very interesting moment indeed. What I've found fascinating is that as soon as one door closes, another opens. It's always been this way for us.

What better way to celebrate the start of a new life than with a musical *grins_widely*.

I love how truisms seem to pass from generation-to-generation, and it's only as we mature (and that's not a chronologically linked evolution,) that we experience the truth of these things.

And what a most glorious way it was! It is one of those experiences that will always stay with me.

I'm so glad to hear that. I find that all of the live performances I've seen tend to stay with me. There's something so indelible about them.

When I was pregnant and Dorkboy working in the IT dept of a hospital, we enjoyed many performances because hospital staff here are offered unsold tickets on the day of the performance for one pound (less than $2). So he'd call me at 6pm, telling me to get ready to see a play or show or opera or concert. :-) I really don't remember all of them, but some have stayed with me, such as seeing Judy Dench in a play (forgotten which one, but her performance was breathtaking) or Alfred Brendel performing several Beethoven Sonatas. :-) And then there was today. Indelible indeed.

How marvelous! Our local industry is films, and I'll confess we usually got to attend a number of cast and crew screenings of movies before they were released. That was fun, but somehow, there's a difference.

I would have loved to have seen Brendel. How wonderful.

I'm so glad the experience today was remarkable.
