You can write whatever the hell you want. Crackfic, rapefic, bdsmfic, whatever takes your fancy. I have absolutely no problems with that. In fact, I will defend this right on your behalf whenever and wherever necessary. But please realise that I also have the right to post whatever the hell I want. And if I feel the need to rant about something I find utterly tasteless, then I also have this right. And I will defend this right as passionately as I will defend anyone else's right to post what they want.

It's all about the right to express yourself, and it goes both ways. It isn't a case of "one is more right than the other," no, it goes equally both ways. And if you disagree with that, that's fine, too, as long as you respect the fact that there are simply two differing opinions, and nothing else.

Is this related to southernwitch69's rant? I have never understood how people can misinterpret a rant on a genre to a personal attack. I think they get overly defensive because deep down they think/know what they are doing is wrong.

Yeah, it bugged me that people jumped up and down, chanting "If you don't like it don't read it," but at the same time were accusing her of wielding her power. It's both ways, no? If you don't like a journal entry, then don't read it, just as you would do with a fic. *snorts*
