Sunday again?

Dang, where did this week go???

Much has been written this week, and today I'm taking a little break from writing. Dorkboy brought me back sockyarn from Chicago, it's Hundertwasser colouring, the design follows the colour of The Road to Socialism, and it's wickedly colourful. So I've spent the afternoon knitting. About half the heel is done now, and I'm really looking forward to wearing them. I might need new shoes because the colours of the yarn clash with just about every Converse pair I have.

My patio garden is thriving. Three mini-tomatoes have come into existence, as well as one cayenne pepper, about an inch and a half long. The green onions are getting a bit thicker finally, after growing and growing into stick-like greens for the last couple of weeks, and the sage is threatening to take over the terrarium, so I think I'll have to make pasta with sage butter for tomorrow's dinner. The basil is finally starting to look like basil, as is the oregano. Oh, and the cilantro. Tomorrow's breakfast shall include some home-grown baby spinach.

I really should transfer my pics from the camera; it shows their growth from the past few weeks, and looking at them pleases me no end. It's kinda strange, with the old-fashioned planting, I'm usually quite successful. I tried an experiment with hydroponics and the poor sods all died within two weeks. Still haven't a clue what I did wrong. And I'll probably try again at some point, but alas. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy my patio.

Don't you just love herbs? They can improve food so much! I completely forgot about getting some mint seeds. Should do that soon; it's really easy to grow. And apart from mojitos, have you ever tried fresh mint tea on a hot summer's day? *droolz* Boil plenty of fresh mint in hot water for five minutes. Cool down. Add honey and fresh lime juice to taste. Drink with loads of ice. It is divine. :)

*joins you in droolz* Our apartment doesn't have air conditioning, so I think this may be imperative :D
