Resisting

It's hard. Resisting a temptation is close to impossible for me. And there is the [livejournal.com profile] sshg_exchange sign-up, which is a true temptation. So far, I've managed to resist. Although I may give in. *sigh* Someone send me vibes to continue to resist the lure. Please.

I've packed four boxes today. Glassware neatly packed within t-shirts and the like. The book shelves look sadly empty. Dorkboy complained about the DVDs gone. He'll just have to admire me for a few hours each night instead. I don't think he minds, his mood is still good. Or maybe that's because I was so kind and left the LOTR movies out. For another day or two.

Oh. Chapter IX of Without Magic is now with NSS.

::squees at icon::

Thank you. I feel somewhat stronger this morning to resist the urge. And I think I've just had something akin to breakthrough with regard to the playing around with audio I mentioned a few days ago.

You're most welcome... and I'm tickled (note the pun) you've found something which works auditorily! ::grins::

Really? You're tickled? *squees in delight*

Would you possibly be willing to be a sounding board ::asks very nicely and respectfully::? At the moment, during the "development" stage, my greatest concern is the aesthetics. I think. What I'm keen to find out is if someone might find it appealing or not.

A sounding board? Sure. I'm probably going to be less active on lj until I get fully into the depths of finishing 'The Summoning,' so email me privately (bambu@windingsteps.com.) I've written 2K words today, so I'm very pleased!

Thank you! I'll mail you in the next couple of days.

The Summoning? 2k words? ::I squeeeeeeeeeee:: I am so totally looking forward to reading it! It was one of the early stories I read, and I fell in love with your writing then. The story also convinced me of the HG/SS ship completely. I had read quite a few stories before, but it was The Summoning that turned me into a follower of the ship.

I'll look forward to your email, then.

I'm so tickled that something I wrote enticed you into this magical, wacky world. I'm just so honored by that. Thank you.

You know, thinking about it, I don't think you can imagine how much inspiration both your writing and your communication has given me.

Right now, I'm not feeling overly confident about my writing. But I've just started to re-read The Summoning, and I can almost feel the creativity flowing again. I'll spend tomorrow, between packing, reading more, and I know I'll be able to write something more inspiring again after that. I thank you for that.

::sniff, sniff::

You've actually brought me to tears. What a lovely thing to tell me. It's probably the nicest thing anyone's ever said about my writing. Thank you.

I do wish I had more time to spend reading everyone else's work, but I find it difficult enough to carve out a little time for mine. Sigh. One of these days, I hope... at least by then I'll be standing in line to buy one of your books and have you autograph it for me.

Really? Your reply made me feel ecstatic because usually I'm known for not saying nice things. :-)))

Time. *Sigh* And dream on about standing in line for my book. I think I'll stand in line for yours much earlier, lol.

I've always thought you were very nice. Who've you been talking to? ::looks around... crosses arms::

We can swap books! I'll sign yours if you sign mine!
