Episode 3 of The Petulant Podcast is online, complete with Nargles! Well, one, anyway. And yeah, you'll just have to listen to it to figure out what on earth I'm on about *snicker*.

I think that's an excellent idea! In fact, with a podcast, the sky is your limit. If it's a hit with the kids, you could even get them involved doing their own segments and stuff.
Okay, software/hardware: A sound-enabled computer and a microphone or better a headset (headphone combined with microphone). I bought mine from RadioShack for $20 and it's served me extremely well. As software (I'm assuming you're on a PC), use Audacity. I did a post a while ago here (http://lady-karelia.livejournal.com/139866.html) that gives websites for download as well as a tutorial and some recording tips.

I saw the post on audacity as I went searching your LJ for any 'how-to' posts for podcasting....

I hadn't even thought about letting the kids do it. Hmmmm....that is a very cool idea, especially if we get the magnet grant that we've applied for. Written in it were iPods for all staff and students. *big grin* Then I can guarantee that it would be a good thing to do this.
I'll download audacity when I get home tonight as my laptop doesn't have internet access at work. If I have any questions, I'll let you know.
