Comment on this post and I will pick seven interests from your profile. You then make a post in your journal explaining what the interests are and what they mean to you.
Here are the seven that
keladry_lupin picked out for me:
1. yarns: I learned to knit last autumn and discovered the beauty and variety of yarns. It is a fascinating world, not just the very many varieties of wool but newer materials, such as paper, corn, soy, hemp, bamboo. Wearing a pair of socks made from bamboo is just seriously cool.
2. paco de lucia: He's a Spanish guitarist who almost single-handedly brought Flamenco to mainstream worldwide. His style is unique and watching him play is kind of experiencing a musical orgasm.
3. hollow earth: One of my favoured books when I was a child was Jules Verne's Journey to the Centre of the Earth, and the idea that there is life in the middle of the earth fascinated me.
4. raw milk: I like dairy products, but am saddened that milk has been processed beyond recognition before it reaches the tables. I wish it would be left up to the customer whether or not we want our milk pasteurized, homogenized and whatever else -ized.
5. soap making: It's a hobby of mine. As addictive as writing, musicking, knitting, cheese-making. I don't do it often these days, mainly due to time constraints. I need a Time-Turner. *nods*
6. john mclaughlin: The American answer to Paco de Lucia.
7. free energy: The technology to create electricity that doesn't use the earth's resources has been around for a good hundred years. I don't like the fact that it's suppressed in the name of making money.
