It's Saturday already???
Dang, where did this week go???
The apartment is sorted, thanks a million to my wonderful f-list. DB phoned their head office and told them we've contacted HUD to complain about what we perceive is a racist policy. They took less than an hour to get back to us, apologising profusely and begging us to re-apply. So we'll go back tomorrow and do that because it really is the nicest and also least expensive option for that area. And unfortunately, all the friends we made live there, so we're really keen to moving closer to them, rather than having to drive 40 mile roundtrips each time we visit.
A couple of nights ago, we took
shalimar1981 and Mini-Shal to see the sunset over the Mississippi river. It was a rather awesome display of nature's beauty!

Little Man enjoying the outing

And last night, we went into downtown Memphis to get a dose of Blues.

A visit to Memphis would be incomplete without duly admiring the pyramid...

... or the Mississippi, which four months ago was all flooded.

A questionable house. The writing says, 'Rooms available by day or by night'

On Beale Street, some played the blues, others showed off their vintage cars

Coyote Ugly. Really.
And
shalimar1981 has abandoned me for a few days now to spend with
southernwitch69. No worries, though; she'll be back on Tuesday.

Hee, if it hadn't been so dang hot, we'd have enjoyed it even more. LOL I don't think I'll ever get used to this heat!

I try to show her a few places. Not that there is a lot here, and it's really, seriously hot to boot, but we've managed to admire a few places. :)

Isn't Memphis a cool place? Mr Scoffy did graduate school at UM and always raves about the blues he got to hear. . .

I like Memphis, it's a cool place. And compact enough to not get lost. Much. LOL
I would love it if it weren't so freaking hot. *melts*

Isn't the Mississippi wonderful. I love the fact that I can go out on my breaks at work and enjoy it's beauty! I do not think I could stand to live where there was no water close by.

Yup, the river sure is beautiful!

Love the Mississippi pix. Oddly enough, she and I were standing on its levee here today across from Oak Alley Plantation.
