Yay Germany!

I know I don't do soccer *snerk*, but I must admit I got lured into the spirit today. Not that I approve of drunk youngsters two hours before the match starts, but Dorkboy watched the match at home, so I couldn't help glancing at the TV every now and then.

My conclusions are:

The referee was a dickhead complete and utter idiot in the first half, but improved surprisingly. Maybe he was crucio-ed during the break for his misdeeds.

The Argentinian team consists of a bunch of drama queens. By the looks of it, they can't afford hairdressers, either. If they took up acting, they'd be really successful. *snerk*
I could also comment on them being very bad losers, having watched the last 5 minutes or so since the end of the match, but in the interest of World Peace, I won't.

The Germans, according to Dorkboy, didn't play quite as well as in previous rounds. However, they did manage to not let any more goals in after the first one, and we all know how well they do with penalties.

The cheering outside is deafening, even the church bells are ringing in celebration, and everyone is happy.

My final conclusion? *points_at_icon*

LOL, Drone's comment on the Argentinian players:
"Ein Haufen Reserve-christus'!" He can't have those hairstyles either ...

And congrats to Germany for winning the match!

I could agree with that comment, too, LOL!

I don't mind long hair on men, I really don't. But if they look like they don't know what a comb or brush looks like, well, then I think they'd better of with a daily overall shave *snerk*.

The happiness in town abounds - for once no miserable faces, so I guess it's a good thing they won! :-)

People are celebrating everywhere.

Next Tuesday a couple of friends and I want to meet in Dortmund. Not because we want to watch the half final, but because we always meet in Dortmund. I guess this gives me half a week to come up with a plan how to go there in the first place and how to survive that evening.

It's amazing, isn't it! I'm here, calmly listening to my iPod sprouting Paula Cole and Donna Summer *now_how_cheesy_is_that!* and even though I have it on full volume, I can hear the crowds!
Oh gosh, Dortmund is playing one of the semi finals, isn't it?
Getting there is not the problem, believe me. We went to Cologne the other day, and the train was very untypically empty there and back. And tonight, during half time when I went shopping, I was shocked to see only a few females in the streets. It was true bliss.

It's crazy. I was told that parts of the city centre were closed by the police after tonight's match because the fans were partying on the streets.

Germany is playing Italy on Tuesday in Dortmund. Therefore, I think I might not be the only one going to Dortmund on that day. I guess I'll have to go a bit earlier to avoid the crowds.

LOL! Too true!

You really can't believe what's going on here in Berlin. People are soooooo crazy.
We wanted to celebrate on Ku'damm, but when we came there it was already closed off, as was the Potsdamer Platz and, of course, the WM Meile. I will add some pics to my LJ tomorrow or on Sunday.

I swear I almost had a heart attack, but we had Jens Lehmann! Yay!

And yes, they played not really good. They were nervous and possibly a bit afraid of Argentina.

Berlin! Berlin! Wir fahren nach Berlin

Now, I'm going to bed or I will fall asleep on my chair.
