Still writing...
Dec. 9th, 2005 09:40 pmI won't even mention any number of words now until the chapter is complete... I know I promised to have His Highness return in Chapter Three, but this chapter is now longer than the previous one (which was nearly 2k words longer than the first) and he hasn't reappeared. Not directly, anyway. Although, having said that, it is clear that he's at home when Hermione gets there. So I have half a mind of finishing it there and let him take over Chapter Four... I don't know yet, I'll sleep over it.
I've written some extensive additional A/N, particularly referring to this chapter, but I won't post them here until I have completed the chapter and sent it to NSS. They're definitely too long to post at the bottom of the chapter in the story itself since I felt the need to explain about "channelling". Not so much the process itself, but the differences that are apparent.
Aside from the writing, we made an attempt to visit the local xmas market, but the crowds just simply freaked me. So we ended up visiting McUnspeakable, where Little One indulged in Chicken Nuggets and had a good time in the playground, while I drowned in coffee and wrote, wrote, and then wrote some more. McUnspeakable was far emptier than the xmas market. I almost started to appreciate the place. Although not quite. Their only vegetarian choice is fried camembert which is totally leathery *glare* — and even that is only a temporary thing. Come xmas, it'll be salad loaded with dressing that is loaded with additives *looking_disgusted*. Well, I guess I should be grateful that they serve coffee here that isn't Nestle. If you think it's hard avoiding that one in England, try Germland *deep_sigh*. The kids know to read labels... Dorkboy is another story. 'Oh, but it says 'Maggi', not Nestlé!' Duh. Have a look on the small print *more_sighs*...
Just in case you're interested as to why I refuse to buy such products, it's purely ethical. I refuse to buy anything that contains monosodium glutamate or artificial sweeteners, or even sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate anyways, but Nestlé is purely ethical. www.babymilkaction.com explains the lack of ethics of that particular company quite well.
