Goodness, what a crappy night! I'm glad everything all worked eventually, and you found help in unexpected places. Sometimes, amidst the gazillion times a day when people really piss me off, I hear of someone doing something nice and my faith in the human race is restored (for a nanosecond, anyway).
Here's hoping today goes better!!
PS - I'm so happy you got some writing done before all Hell broke loose... sounds like it was an inspiring setting.
