The day gradually improved

Thunder woke me up at 6.30 this morning, which I found highly unimpressive. So I stumbled to the computer, flinching every time clouds crashed into each other, and the first thing I saw online was a tornado watch warning. Then I just managed to read a couple of friends posts and a few e-mails, and the internet connection died *kicks BellSouth*. Of course, it didn't die BEFORE I noticed that various people had received their SSHG_Exchange prompts, but I hadn't. So I staggered back to bed and fell asleep until the iPod woke me up with the sweet sound of piano, playing the first few beats of Via Con Me. That was a positive improvement over thunder. :-)
The internet was still dodgy, though, but I got some non-computer stuff done, like a little sewing and ironing patterns *groan*. Eventually, the rain disappeared, the sun came out and the internet back. Yup, I live in the most advanced country and have a seriously fast internet connection that fails abysmally every time it rains. I do realise that's taking individuality a bit far, but there you go...
Once the internets were back, matters improved drastically. First, I heard from Phoenix Rising. I shall be drabbling on the Saturday night from 8-9pm. Anyone else here in the same time slot?
Second, I spoke to a very dear friend, who generously offered to contribute something very special to my baby, the Shrimpcast. I can't tell details, ya'll have to wait till Monday, but I can guarantee you'll like it.
Next, I received my prompt for the SSHG_Exchange. When I read the first one, I nearly groaned because it was so predictable that I would be given this particular prompt. However, by the time I read this prompt again, I had a vague idea for a plot. The second prompt didn't do an awful lot for me. I mean, I could do it, but I don't think it's my cup of tea. Now, the third prompt is an entirely different cookie. It's tempting, oh so tempting. I shall have to sleep over it and hopefully not be woken rudely again before I make a decision which prompt to choose. But I'm relieved that it's something doable, something I feel comfortable writing.
And now I'm talking to another dear friend on IM. It's been a good day, despite the thunder, lol.
