It has become tradition over the last few years that Severus and I toast in just over an hour, during that split second or so during which my birthday ends and his starts. So, kindly refrain from chasing him between now and the morning, okay? You all can have him back in the morning, should he be willing to leave. *polite smile*

It has been a most fabulous day, which started off equally fabulous. Thank you for all your kind and wonderful wishes, your e-cards, your mails, your posts, your text messages *squeeeeeeeeeeeee IgotatextmsgfromTrini!!!!!*, [livejournal.com profile] subvers' wonderful pic of Severus, [livejournal.com profile] sshg316's gorgeous icon *points proudly*.

We've had such great fun in downtown Memphis today! When we left, it was 72 F, so we wore sleeveless stuff and just took some hoodies with us. And oh, what a surprise, we reached downtown and the rain with it. Not just your ordinary rain, oh no, the kind I love: a downpour that translates as "it rains cats and dogs". It was gorgeous. Very wet, too, since we couldn't really wait in the car until it stopped, not knowing when it would stop. So we ran to the Hard Rock Café, and by the time we got there, our backs were completely soaked. The food was not bad, the service excellent, and we all had a blast. My now 18-year old was offered a kids' menu, and I couldn't stop laughing. She must have been in a rather good mood because the tongue-lashing I'd expected upon the offer never came. *laughs*

So when we left, it was time for some retail therapy. We couldn't possibly have remained in wet hoodies, it was rather uncomfortable. Thankfully, Gap helped us out, and we found beautiful black zip-up hoodies in wool, at bargain prices, catching the tail-end of the sales. Afterwards, we enjoyed some well-deserved coffee at Starbucks at the Peabody Place.

I found a vintage tin sign on Beale Street. Didn't buy it cuz I wanted to find something dry to wear, but I think I'll go back in a few days. It's an ad for something, and the bottom line reads "Respectable women need not apply". I rather liked it and think it'll make a perfect addition to my kitchen corner.

Oh! Little Man told his now adult!sister that she's an old hag as of today. Upon asking him what I am, he said with no hesitation, "an ancient relic. But don't worry. Dad is even older!" Aren't I lucky...

Thank you! Well, if it had gone up I wouldn't say it here, lol. But no, it hasn't gone up yet. Quite a few good ones have been posted, though, definitely worth checking out! :-)
