Working on The Cloak
Jul. 30th, 2005 07:49 pmAfter a short visit to the local abominations aka passport office which led to absolutely nowhere, since now they're saying that the receipt for the ID card isn't enough, I figured, well, stuff them. I know who I am, and I don't care if anyone doubts it, all because there's a stamp missing in my passport. Since we were in town, and had discovered KFC, well Little One had discovered it, despite my intensive *willing_him_to_not_see_it*, we went in there, to have some fries and a drink and he had a run around in the air conditioned indoor playground.
I spent the afternoon finally doing some work on The Cloak, the four parts are now sewn together, tonight I'll attach the hood. I realized that instead of using the same material for the lining, I might use a thin cotton lining (the fabric shop is next door to the internet cafe), then do another cloak of the same material, but line it with some nice and warm wool fabric for winter. When dorkboy bought me my first cloak and I fell instantly in love with it, with the way it feels, with the way I feel when wearing it, I promised myself that one day I shall have cloaks for all occasions. And I'm getting there, yeah! I have two so far, the original, bought one, and my first made one, which is ideal for colder winter days as it's quite heavy and snugly warm. Now I'm working on the one that will probably be ideal for temperatures ranging from around 55 to 70F (~ 15 to 21C). If I do the one with a wool lining, well, that might be one for the theater or going out occasions in winter. :-) I'll post a picture once The Cloak is done.
