No Way!

I can't quite believe it myself: I have just sent off the last chapter of my exchange fic to my lovely beta. *looks around in disbelief* Yup. I did it.

When I read the prompts I loved them. Then one stood out. And I loved it and the muse loved it, so all was well. Then I figured, oh, brilliant, about 10-12k and I'll be happy, and hopefully the recipient will be happy, too. So I started writing. And the Muse spoke up. And turned into a 20k job.

And just found a major blunder, so need to rewrite part of it. *deep sigh*

It's way too warm, 68 right now, and the low is supposed to be 36. Someone up there, please bring the cold and leave it here! I'm tired of warm weather! The next few days look promising, though.

Now that my exchange fic is gone, I feel somewhat bereft, but am happy to have time to turn to other things. Like knitting. I've never done that before except a very short stunt during my childhood, during which I quickly realised that playing the piano was a lot more fun than knitting straight rows of drab wool. However, in recent years, I've come to admire, even envy anyone I met who can knit. What a fascinating thing to do! You carefully choose the yarn, and even the smallest yarn store has an abundance of choices, even if you're snobbish like me and toss any man-made fibres aside as being unfit. You ponder the various vibrant colours, then move on to the more natural hues to ponder before making up your mind what will be best for your project. Then you create something with your hands, and then you get to wear it! Fascinating!

Today and tomorrow are not writing days, I really do need a short break from putting word on paper. Knitting, of course, is an entirely different story... *takes up the half-finished arm warmer*
