Why Politics?

I entered the HP fandom, the sshg ship specifically, because I enjoyed reading fiction. Heck, it saved me a ton of money to boot, and the writing mostly isn't half-bad. The more involved I got, however, the more horrified I was to see the politics involved. I came here to enjoy myself, to be entertained. If I wanted politics, or soap opera, all I have to do is switch on the TV. Oh. Hang on. I don't have a TV hooked up. Guess why? *snrk*

I don't care if you hate author x because she's a bitch and said your writing is bad. I don't care if you hate author y because her fic won an award and yours didn't. I don't care if you hate author z because she has gorgeous blonde hair while yours is mousy-brown and looks like a mouse mistook it for cheese. All I'm interested in is decent writing.
