That gourmet/liquor store [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_91 talked about? Awesome. Absolutely awesome. We were so busy admiring the wares on offer, nobody remembered the picspam promises.

[livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_91 distracted [livejournal.com profile] melenka successfully from editing her nanowrimo opus.

But dedicated writer, she soon returned to work.

After the visit to the gourmet store, we headed for the airport where Mr K arrived in time for us to kill an hour over coffee until [livejournal.com profile] kittylefish arrived.

Dinner, prepared by [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_91, panir massala with home-made panir, and rice. It was divine.

"What do you mean, writers don't edit their chapter before sending it to their beta?" [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_91 asks incredulously while [livejournal.com profile] kittylefish isn't quite sure if she's serious or not.

Mr K figured she did a good job. She did. The food was amazing!

[livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_91, [livejournal.com profile] rdholmantx, who finally arrived this evening, and [livejournal.com profile] kittylefish tucking in.

That dinner was an amazing joint project. It all started when [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_91 and [livejournal.com profile] desertwitch, who was being missed tonight--but it's her fault cuz she went to see a Spurs game--visited back in October and were subjected to Indian food, courtesy of Mr K. [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_91 loves to cook (and I'll need to go on a diet when I get home! You like scones? Make friends with her. She makes them better than most English people I know!), so I volunteered Mr K to teach her. And today was the day. We all chipped in of course, but [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_91 did the actual cookery. We had, and all prepared from scratch: Fruit Chaat (savoury fruit), salad (onions, tomato, mooli, cilantro, lime), chicken tikka massala, beef curry, vegetable curry, saag panir, pakoras (mostly eggplant, some chili), and chapati. Can you say food orgy?

Thus ends Day 2 of the Austin Squeefest.

Oh, I completely forgot about the cheese! Mind you, that's kind of a given when we're involved, LOL!

I agree, the best part was the conversations we had. Really need to repeat that experience!!!
