lady_karelia: (Phoenix Rising good times)

London. Hm. Dunno how to describe it. People seem to be getting more agressive every time I visit. But there is Mysteries, The Gap, and Neil's Yard Remedies, and there simply isn't any equivalent of either of those in Germland.

Then, there is my new toy. A sparkling white macbook. *preens* It is beautiful. It has GarageBand the latest version. And the entire iLife. So I'm happy. Very happy.

So, yeah. I'm one happy person.

As started by [personal profile] hogwartshoney, and followed up by [profile] charmed310, here's my list of people I would absolutely llllllove to meet at Phoenix Rising:

[personal profile] bambu345 - Not only the very best writer in the fandom, but a wonderful person as well - compassionate, willing to share joy to multiply it and willing to share pain to minimise it. What more can I say.

[personal profile] notsosaintly - She is the one who keeps me writing. Now, of course, I don't know if that's a good thing or not from someone else's point of view. But from my point of view, I will forever be grateful to her for encouraging me the way she did, has done, and still does.

[profile] snapesforte - She is the authority on Severus Snape, she writes brilliant stories, and she's simply awesome. I wish I had the guts to let me inner Death Eater hang out the way she does.

[profile] shiv5468 - She writes good stories and she's more opinionated than me. I so want to get some advice from her about how to become more opinionated.

[profile] larilee - Need I say more? Awesome author, awesome admin on Ash, awesome opinionated person. I know you're going to Canada *wrinkles_nose*, why can't you come to NO, too????

As for those I haven't mentioned, well, dears, you're the ones whom I will meet. :-)

Oooooh, a macbook! Preen away my sweet, am ALMOST envious, but being a dyed-in-the-wool pc user since... well, forever, I'll let you enjoy your new baby!

Y'know, what you wrote about bambu is really, truly wonderful and SO TRUE! I feel that way about her and about [livejournal.com profile] subvers, I just get the most awesome vibes from them!
I hope we get to meet them all ! although I still think I might cower away from shiv a bit... she still kinda scares me! LOL I've managed to get over my fear of [livejournal.com profile] droxy, but only just!
LOL

You feared [livejournal.com profile] droxy??? The mind boggles, LOL.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone we want to attend would? :-)

Yeah, I sure did fear her. Well, okay, maybe not 'fear' but ... was intimidated! LOL.. newbie, remember?

I think we should start working some SERIOUS magic to get everyone to attend. I know that phoenix can't make it, and that's a shame. Maybe we should do as [livejournal.com profile] snapeophile suggests and start a round of recruitment!! ;o)

That means truly SERIOUS magic. I mean, that's something I can't do on my own, not even with the use of borderline legal magic...
That [livejournal.com profile] snapeophile surely is a clever one, splendid idea!

Well, we're all resourceful witches, aren't we?
I'm sure we can place a hefty set of coersion on people.

Indeed, indeed!

The coersion sounds truly fun! *rushes to work on some appropriate spells*

There's my girl !!! ;o)
I'm sending this msg to [livejournal.com profile] subvers

"Here's what. If you come to PR, [livejournal.com profile] snapeophile and I will wear tshirts that say "subversa's fangurl" for an entire day!!!
Her idea, I'm more than willing to go along!
How's THAT for pressure?"

The same way! Failing that, we'll have to get tshirts that say 'FANGURL' on the front and list everyone's LJ names on the back! LOL. So far I have 3 fangurl squees to do.. bambu, subversa and snegurochka_lee... i'll be a bucket of squee if I get to meet 'em all

It's so nice to see my name in such company! I would really love to go to Phoenix Rising, but it's simply not affordably feasible. I'm hitting Prophecy with the same viewpoint I hit Lumos -- I will work on buying my ticket and trust in the fact that if I am meant to go, things will work out. I'm personally a bit shocked that that worked. :-)

I have to admit I am a bit surprised to know I'm opinionated. I often feel more like Charlie Brown than Lucy, but I am working on channeling my inner opinionatedness. It's nice to know that it seems to be working!

I really wish you were going to Prophecy as well. Perhaps you could work on it? And congratulations on the new Macbook! It sounds awesome!

I'm sure that if we put out mind to something, it's bound to work out. :-) In that spirit, I'll see what I can do about Prophecy. Is there a website? I don't even know the dates.

I do find you opinionated, in a charming sort of way. You don't say things out loud sometimes, but instead then work the issue into a short story. I do like that a lot, LOL!

I'm enjoying the macbook, it's very pretty and fast and easy to use. :-)

People are getting more aggressive? Odd... I've never noticed people acting that way - rude, yes... but not aggressive.

Meh... don't you just hate the few who ruin the reputation of the rest *shakes head*

I've started thinking about getting a mac... but I'm not really a 100% sure that I'll be compatible with one *snigger* I mean I use one at Uni... but I've been brought up on microsoft etc the rest of my entire computer experience life.

Sorry, rambling... I'm glad you're enjoying your new toy *smile*

I can't see me going to Toronto, though that might change if lots of other interesting people do potter along.

I will be going to Sectus though, as it's just round the corner from me.

Erm, London might be getting more agressive, though I find that depends on whether I'm going shopping or not. :D It's certainly more crowded.

I'm not planning on Toronto, although [livejournal.com profile] larilee said I should. ;-) I'm going to the New Orleans one.

I don't think Sectus will be an option as we'll be living in the US then. I think. On the other hand, maybe I should attempt to attend all three; that'd make up for never having been to one.

I might go to the US for a holiday to see flistees instead.

That sounds like fun! Especially if you choose Stepford Central to meet up. Oh, just imagine...

::pounces:: You say the sweetest things! I'm blushing and I think I'm a little teary-eyed. And you've put me in with such remarkable company! Thanks.

Just think, you'll be living in the states by the time Phoenix Rising comes around, so it'll be easier for you to get there... how excellent is that.

I don't know if it's do-able for me, there are some other family commitments which come up in May, and they're pretty significant. But, I'd love to meet y'all (see the southern girl talk... I'm practicing!)

Aw! You're too sweet. :-)

Yes, we're hoping for another six weeks or so before the move and are totally excited.

Well... [livejournal.com profile] hogwartshoney has already suggested the use of SERIOUS magic, and I am with her on that, ya know? And then there's [livejournal.com profile] snapeophile who suggested some recruitment. Maybe you will make it. :-)

Wow! Six weeks isn't terribly long, it'll be here before you know it. How will you transport the big stuff to Tennessee?

Serious magic? Eeep! ::is scared... not really:: I don't know the dates yet, so I don't really know if Phoenix interferes with a family obligation. If it does, then there's no way I can make it. If it doesn't then I'll have to see if I can scrounge the funds. I would love to meet you in person, and the Honey, and the Charmed one, and... oh, so many others.

We don't have any big stuff. :-) It wouldn't be worth shipping it anyways, seeing the eccletricity system is very different, and we'd have to spend a fortune in transformers etc.
Biggest item is probably the keyboard and the e-guitar - we're shipping those together with all the smaller stuff.

Dates for PR are May 17-21 I believe. And you're not really scared? ;-) Be afraid, dear, be very afraid. The Honey and I have started plotting, and we have Severus' help with it, too. No stopping us now. :-)

::nods:: True. When I worked in the international divisions at... er... Big Name Studio... I had to provide transformer/adapter kits to the junior executives when they'd travel abroad... along with the proper currency and important cultural taboos for the country they were visiting.

At least it will all pack fairly easily, and some of it you could probably ship early so it will be there upon your arrival. Although those rules may have changed in the wake of 9/11.

May 17-21? I'll check with my mom and the other senior family members. ::shakes head:: Nope, I'm not really afraid at all. I have Hermione and Molly Weasley in my camp... I'm not afraid at all! ::grins::

Packing won't be a problem, and what's more, I've already started. :-) The task doesn't look quite so daunting once a few boxes are filled.

The contents are nothing questionable, unless TPTB question my taste of books *snerk*.

Hermione and Molly, eh? Hermione is in our camp too, ya know, and Molly likes me because I share good recipes with her. :-))

::grins:: I can just imagine that you've started packing. This is just so very exciting. I'm so happy for your family. I cringe at the thought of packing all our books. We still have about 10 boxes of books in the garage we don't have room for in the house!

Hmmm... you're working on Hermione and Molly now? ::pouts... thinks::

I'll just have to offer some Slutty Lemonade to Ginny and the twins. ::giggles::
