1. The recently updated thing is f***ed. MM and I discussed it this AM, as have all the admins. Our programmer dude has been told to fix it as a priority. We are going to have it so that the date updated will be the date approved, so if people wait a while for validation they will still get on the front page. We know it's not working right at the moment, and are sorry. It WILL be fixed. People need to get front page exposure when they update, otherwise their fics might not get the readership.
2. For categories, you cannot click "Ashwinder" as a category, because we are all one archive. But if you click the appropriate category just below it the story will eventually (when we are all working hunky dory) come up on a search in that category and sub-category. Does that make sense? In the validation queue, the categories show as colour coded - so it does work, it just takes some getting used to.
So you'd click
Ashwinder (no clicking) -romance -humour -pron -drama
And would get the result that your story was an Ashwinder drama story, or comedy story, as appropriate.
