It's the middle of the week

And the weather has been spiteful. It's hot and humid, and it's not even spring yet *grumbles*. The promised rain was a five minute torrential shower that forced me to slow down on the interstate yesterday while it lasted. Unfortunately, five minutes later, all was dry again, and today's wait for rain was in vain.
American Idol was, ah, somewhat predictable. The little girl who was mistakenly put into the boys' section, not that it matters now, is still in the race, and I bet it's because of her Farah Fawcett hair-do. Not that the guy who went out tonight didn't deserve to go out. His performance was poor. But hers was even poorer, and there was Hailey who gave a really poor performance, too. And she wasn't even in the bottom three.
This season's winner will be neither male nor white. That is my prediction. The final, I hope, will be between Lakisha and Melinda. The final four will include Jordin and Stefanie.
Of course, Lakisha and Melinda are all about transformation. Lakisha turns up on the stage, and the first thought that enters your mind is, "Oh, wow, here comes big momma from the Deep South". And then she starts singing and has a huge audience completely mesmerized. Then Melinda enters the stage, and you can't help like her because she's such a sweet young lady who was born old and will die young because she gives off this feel of timelessness. And then she starts to sing and transforms into a goddess. Those two are really amazing, they would turn a Back Street Boys song into a classic without effort.
I tried to answer a review just now, but I keep getting error messages. QueenP, if you read this, I'm working on the chapter and hope to send it off to NSS by the weekend, so it should be posted sometime next week. I'm sorry about the long wait! Between WIPs, Shrimpcast, the SSHG_Exchange, getting bits and pieces ready for Phoenix Rising, I simply don't have enough hours in the day at the moment, and having felt poorly last week doesn't help one bit.

Date: 2007-03-15 10:36 pm (UTC)It's just nasty and somewhat cold here. I'm hoping for a day like the one we had sometime last week. It had, oh I don't know, an hour or so of actual sunshine...

Date: 2007-03-15 11:08 pm (UTC)And why is that girl-who's-in-the-boys-section still around? Yikes. There always is one, isn't there? Every season? Chicken Little last year, that young teenage crooner-wanna-be one year. I wish I could remember their names.

Date: 2007-03-16 01:05 am (UTC)Chicken Little??? ROFL! I didn't get to watch the American version previously, only occasional snippets, but I got hooked on it in England.
Question: was it you who knew someone who could have buttons made at a reasonable cost? Or was I dreaming?

Date: 2007-03-16 02:42 am (UTC)Yes! I know a lovely person who makes buttons! She's
::is excited::

Date: 2007-03-16 02:57 am (UTC)Thank you so much!!! I should probably ask her myself, as I'm not just talking about a handful of buttons. If you think it's okay to give me her email addy, please do. If not, let me know and I'll send the questions to you and you can forward it, if that would be okay with you.
Heck, excited is not the word. Is it STILL two months??? When I'm trying to find the time to update my stories, time is flying. When I think of PR, Streelers move at the speed of light, compared to time...

Date: 2007-03-16 03:56 am (UTC)I agree with your assesment on the ladies. I liked Stephanie, too, and Jordin was soft. I wasn't even that impressed with Blake. *sigh*
Is this season going to be as boring as it's starting out? If so... I may record it all and just fast forward through the entire thing.

Date: 2007-03-16 05:50 am (UTC)Wouldn't that be nice! Only, the problem is they wouldn't get millions of votes that way *snerk*. And after all, it is a commercial show...
I've only watched snippets of AI before, I was hooked on the UK Pop Idol, and it always started pretty much the same way. By the time it was down to the last ten or so, you'd know who would end up in the top three... In a way, it's a shame because those who are rejected as three or four are really talented, but the stigma of being "rejected on Idol" will probably forever be with them...
