Oh, I'm absolutely with you about LJ and GJ. Yes, I've parked my name there because it seemed a good idea at the time so I can keep in touch with LJ (or former LJ) friends. I'm looking around, hoping for some form of blog to emerge that is run by people who value freedom of speech. *shrug*
