This was a birthday gift from the highly talented
sshg316. She knows of my musical obsession.

A gift from
sshg316 not long after we friended each other. If I remember correctly, she first created the icon with a pencil. I mentioned that when I write music, I always do so with my good old fountain pen. And she showed how I do it. :)

This was a gift from
lux_astraea. She is amazingly talented not only in creating icons, but in catching the character and essence of its intended user. As
subvers said so aptly, it reminds of favourite faded denims. Add musical notes to that, and yeah, that's me. :)
And here be the explanations to interests:
Reiki: I first read about this ancient and re-discovered art of healing in 1994. Within two months I found a teacher who attuned me to the first level. The attunement itself was a somewhat drab affair. The teacher was the typical old-school German, stiff and boring and following the book. While I had tremendous fun from the start to better friends' ailments, such as headaches, hayfever symptoms, emotional problems and the like, I knew I'd have to wait until I found a teacher I liked before I'd go for the next attunement. I found Art Gross in 1998 when I lived in the desert in Arizona. He became a close friend in the process and not only attuned me to level 2, but in November 1999 to master level. I have since attuned more than a hundred Reiki students, many of them through the distance. Reiki might be a new age fad. The ancient art of healing, using symbols in the process, however, is not. It has been practiced for millennia, and successfully so.
The Magic Flute is my all time favourite opera. I don't usually go for Mozart, lovely music, but not enough depth and far too cheerful for my taste. I was never good playing it either. But The Magic Flute is an exception. Not only is the music incredible, the story itself goes deep into Ancient Egypt, knowledge of secret orders, the conclusion of Love winning, and I simply love, love, love every aspect of it. I've seen it on stage fourteen times, from small town theatres to big city opera houses, and best of all, at the Salzburg Marionettentheater where Fischer-Dieskau sang on ancient grammophone and puppets performed. An experience I shall continue to treasure for the rest of my life.
Gypsy Jazz is a branch of music I discovered before I had my first accordion lesson. The village I grew up in (in Germany) was visited annually in August and September by a group of gypsies, who were true nomads. I doubt such still exist today - the ones I'm referring to stopped coming when I was about fourteen. The group consisted of maybe ten or so families, family meaning kids, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and possibly great-great-grandparents. Some folks were seriously old. I mean Old. Like, I attended several 100th birthday celebrations. Anyway, their visit coincided with the mushroom season. My nanny and I would hike across fields where we knew cows had been grazing in order to look for 'shrooms. Contact with the gypsies was pretty much inevitable and something both of us loved. Whenever my mother had to work late, I'd sneak out, sometimes even without my nanny, and joined the local visiting gypsies in the late afternoons and evenings. I never learned to appreciate the taste of game (I still shudder at the thought of eating hedgehog!), but my heart started singing the moment they took their various guitars, fiddles, drums, double-bass out and started playing music. Haensche Weiss is probably the best example of the kind of music, and I can't link to it because the only link I've had tells me "not found" sob, but the Rosenberg Trio is another good example, and you can find that all over the internets including youtube. The best known gypsy jazz player to this day is probably Django Reinhardt. You'll also find plenty of links on google. Another one, Stephane Grappelli, from France, hooked up with Yehudi Menuhin and even recorded an album with him.
Orgone *grin* Orgone is what Wilhelm Reich referred to as the life force. The very force of life that connects us really close to the Creator. The ptb have tried their best to repress it, but truth tends to always finds its way out of every corner, and more and more people have started realising that there is more to life than tv. Don Croft took the call to Orgone a step further, experimented with a mix of organic and inorganic materials, added some crystals, and called it Orgonite. For me, Orgone and Orgonite are those thin lines that connect the exoteric with the esoteric.
Non-vaccination: I have never followed religion based on belief, so it was only natural for me to question what the world deems the goodness of vaccination. I spent a good seven years of my life trying to find a reason to justify having a needle filled with poison stabbed into me. I never found that reason. I did find plenty of evidence of plenty of lies, based on profit. I personally don't approve of a monetary based society, so I tend to stay away from contributing to it. Especially if it causes that much pain, death, and trouble.
Mind Power: The power of the mind is far stronger than we believe it to be in general. Thought creates matter, that is a law of the universe. Therefore, our mind is incredibly strong. We just have to accept this.
Montauk: I'll try to do this in short, although I can't promise because so much is connected to that one word. Montauk is a village in Long Island, New York. Montauk is also the name of a Native Tribe of that area. It sits on a ley line, meaning time and space have very thin veils there. Something like Stonehenge or the Pyramids of Egypt, only the veil is even thinner. Made even more thinner by technology the powers that be have been applying ever since they did the Philadelphia Experiment. Peter Moon has authored some books about Montauk, the Philadelphia Experiment and other subjects that fit in with his findings about Montauk. Amongst them is the Black Sun and Thule, a secret society that came into being a few years before Hitler's rise to power. All very esoteric, very occult. What fascinates me about the stories, aside from giving me great plot bunnies, is that it's all based on evidence. Some of it may not be true, but the books never deny that possibility. They simply follow the trail of what could be, what might be the truth.
