Thank Goddess it's Friday is all I can say about this week *sigh*. Honestly, coping with school holidays when your kids are homeschooled has become quite a task. Misbehaving little monsters everywhere we go! If parents don't teach the need for respect and courtesy to their offspring, what are the schools doing ignoring that dire need??? Or has this society wholly become one of total ignoramuses? Or should that be 'ignorami'? Hm. Too lazy to look it up now.
This morning passed fairly uneventful. I refused to go anywhere, so we all stayed home, played around and waited for hubby to come home. Soon after he got home, just after 2pm, I dropped him and the kids off to town where they were going to do some shopping and have coffee at Starbucks inside Borders. We still don't get a discount, despite going there at least once a week, mostly more often *sigh*. Anyways, then I drove over to Bribbet's, barely observing speed limits, so desperate was I to get going on that wondrous sewing machine of hers. I learned that I only had made one small, easily rectifiable mistake in the pinning of the cloak lining, and am now proudly displaying my readily sewn cloak lining to everyone I can get hold of (there be hubby, sara and Little One - but more to come tomorrow!). I also pinned the pattern correctly to the cloak fabric, except that i folded it inside to inside instead of outside to outside, but Bribbet said in that particular case it won't matter. So my next task, over the weekend, will be to cut the fabric *shudder* and pin it ready for sewing. She'll come 'round on Wednesday with sewing machine and our enthusiastic plan is to complete The Cloak Project then! I'm haltingly enthusiastic as otherwise I'd be very disappointed not being able to wear The Cloak on Thursday. But I realized upon trying on the lining that this cloak is about twice as voluminous as the one I've had for about 6 months or so now. The feel is wonderful! Probably in part at least because I have made it rather than bought it, but I do like the masses of fabric hugging me.
By the time I got home I was fairly tired, and dear hubby had ordered some Chinese take-out which arrived shortly after I did. I enjoyed the fried seaweed and the tofu pineapple whatever it's called, it was tasty. And now I'm enjoying a peaceful evening in front of the computer with some nice music.
Tomorrow we have Joyous and family coming over for dinner, Little One will have fun with her Little Ones, and we'll have fun discussing cloaks and spiritual matters, while being wined and dined with hubby's wonderful culinary skills and excellent taste in wine.
Aunt M if you're reading this, know that I've been thinking of you and sending those *winning* vibes your way! :-)
