I finally managed to be online at the same time as my brother, so we spent a wonderful couple of hours talking, him, my niece and me. That was until I realized that it was nearly 3am, and felt very suddenly very tired.
I didn’t wake up till 10.30, and Little One awoke shortly after. Nadia made us breakfast, gosh, am I being spoiled or what! Then it was soon time to get ready to leave for the North West Frontier, near Peshawar.
The Rawalpindi Bus Station surely was an adventure! Ten different buses produce ten different hooting sounds, and just imagine the noise with a hundred and more buses! Naveed found us a mini bus for ourselves, so the journey was nice, peaceful and we had plenty of space. We arrived late afternoon at Bina’s sisters’ house, and within minutes, all the neighbourhood turned up to have a good look at the Whitie *LOL*. We’re in the hills and this house here has its own well, and the water simply tastes heavenly, especially with lemon juice, of which I’ve had more in the past 4 hours than I’ve had in the past 4 years!
We went for a short walk into the hills, were greeted very friendly by a Nomad Pathan family who have two tents: One for the family of 3, the other tent for about 20 goats. The lady wore the most gorgeous green dress, with heavy embroidery, long, just as I like them; surely if I spoke Pushto, I’d have asked her to sell it to me. But alas, there are always the bazaars in Peshawar *looks_hopeful*.
Tomorrow we’ll be going for a picnic by the River Kabul near here, and I’ve been told to expect to see wild turtles and tortoises. I’m looking forward to it.
