Rain, rain, more rain and then some. We waited (im)patiently this morning, until the rain stopped. I was hoping that the weather would do the same as in the previous days - buckets full of rain in the morning, then a dry afternoon, followed by more buckets of rain in the evening. No such luck today... We did make it to the village centre with dry cloaks. Then we went into the supermarket. I admit I spent a lot of time at the cheese counter, mainly because Little Wizard recently developed a passion for Grana Padano, an Italian cheese, and I had trouble finding it. But at least now I know much more about Belgian and Dutch cheeses *smirk*, AND I found the Grana Padano. When we left the supermarket, it was pelting down. We were soaked to the skin within a couple of minutes *deep_sigh*. So instead of braving the hill up, we stopped at the taxi home (which is run by an English lady), and cut short our outing.
Little One cut all the potatoes for potato mash, wow, I’m truly impressed! He demanded to do so, I promise, no child labour involved. :-) Now he’s chomping away said cheese while looking at how to cause mischief in the tiny kitchen.
Dorkboy will be home soon, and I do hope he’ll have some good news regarding his payment. I’m getting impatient about booking our tickets as well as a spending spree I’ve been promised *totally_looking_forward_to_it*. It’s still raining, by the way. I don’t think it’s stopped since we left the village. Here’s hoping to a drier day tomorrow. The mushroom fairies are definitely calling.
