Returning to Germany for now
Nov. 4th, 2005 01:37 pmWe found a lovely holiday apartment. Although it’s only one bedroom officially, it is very large. I think it’s about nearly the same size as our old flat in Bournemouth was. The “second” bedroom is a gallery above the living room, which Little One fell in love with instantly. He has his very own ladder to go up to his “room”! Dorkboy will only take about 35 minutes door to door to get to and from work, which is brilliant. I don’t remember any occasion we lived that close to his work place. The city centre is about half an hour’s walk, and the millions of buses will enable us to go on loads of day trips and explore the area. Add to that even more train connections and we’re bound to be very busy :-).
Now to the moving process *deepest_sigh*. I hope this is the second last one. I know we’re going to have another one, moving from the furnished place to an unfurnished place that has garden, fire place, wooden flooring and all that. Well, this place has wooden flooring *beams*. And after that one, probably yet another one to move countries yet again. But alas. I might have a year’s or two respite when it comes to moving countries. I don’t know. I don’t want to know right now, either.
The afternoon just... went. It was kind of strange, looking back. One moment, we parted company with Dorkboy, after looking at the holiday place, the next moment we met him again, 3 hours later. Instead of opening a bank account, and finding flights to the US, all we had managed to do was have lunch in one place, go to Saturn (the multi media shop), where we picked up a movie for Little One and I found a couple of CD’s at low prices (Lord of the Dance soundtrack and Arthur Rubinstein’s Beethoven Sonatas), and go to McPuke because it has a playground, and because Little One insists on going there so he can play and I can write. Funny enough, he always emphasises my writing needs when he states his argument for going there. *Sigh* Like father like son... LOL
I did get quite a bit of writing done, to be fair. Not that I like McP, by any means. But I manage to tune out everything, and just sit there and write. Although, tonight, I shan’t type it up, am too tired.
