And it was supposed to be a relaxing day
Sep. 4th, 2007 09:28 pmBefore I forget, Deutsche Welle has a wonderful podcast with several recordings of the Beethovenfest 2007 in Bonn.
Yeah, so much for my relaxing day after spending the w/end writing frantically. For the first time since we moved here, the temperature was below 95. The back door, which is mainly glass, has been bugging me since we moved. It had paint splashes, finger prints from strangers, smudges... All in all, every time I looked at it, I shuddered. But it was too freaking hot to keep the door open for more than a few seconds, so I've refrained from doing anything about it. But today, it was finally unhot enough to clean the damn thing. It's all shiny and clean now. And because cleaning just one thing isn't really worthwhile, I cleaned the kitchen floor as well. Not because I splashed a lot of water from cleaning the darned door.
While cleaning and listening to the 9th Symphony, inspiration about chapter XIII struck me. So I sat down and started to write. If I can get an hour or three in tomorrow, I can send it off to NSS, yay. I feel so much more light-hearted now that it's nearly done, having sat here for wayyyyy too long.
After I'd written a few hundred words, I decided I wanted to do some cooking, so I cooked curries (paneer and chicken), rice, and made an apple crumble to boot. It must be getting cold soon! I always feel the urge to cook before it gets cold.
And now all I'm capable of is reading the reviews some wonderful people left for my chapter of The Lost Corridor round robin and maybe a story, dunno which one yet.
ETA: I nearly forgot: We had about 2.5 drops of rain today ::wills the 'shrooms to grow::
