So, after writing about half a chapter of The Lost Corridor, our round robin fic, and having been in an exceptionally silly mood most of the day (that's good silly, not bad silly), I finally figured out how to listen to Classic FM on my old Mac, just, you know, for the sake of listening to a radio station, and the first piece that was playing was In Paradisum. I recognised Karl Jenkins' touch, having fond memories of the early Adiemus days, and thankfully, they announced the version right after. It was from Requiem (Fauré, anyone?), sung by Catherine Finch (sp?), and I actually liked it a great deal better than the Kiri Te Kawana version or the KJ original, which I came across on my search on iTunes, who don't have the version I now want.
Anyway, all this searching while listening to such beauty, reminded me that I have yet to find a new Hundertwasser calendar for next year. It's not that I'm all that keen on calendars—time is all but illusion—but it's my excuse to decorate a corner of my living space with something I appreciate looking at, which means it can't be anything but Hundertwasser since there are not yet any calendars of Foster architecture. So I went on ebay. Not a calendar, but I like it muchly! And to make it worse, I followed a link. Did you know, there is tableware with Hundertwasser art? *droolz*. And yes, it gets better, they have entire sets! Or maybe worse, lol. I'll need a suitable table first, so I can have dinner in style.
Teehee, the connection to classicfm went, but the cache has that music still, yay.
ETA: Found it. Karl Jenkins & West Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra, Requiem: In Paradisum
It is soooooooooooooooo beautiful!
