It's been another awesome, awesome day, which started early with the Granger/Snape meet-up.



ladyofthemasque with her wildly colourful hair, and NoGod1215 laughing with her on the other side of the table. She read an excerpt from a new SSHG fanfic she hasn't posted yet as well as an excerpt of her latest book, which is due out in September. It was a right treat!

Kyria of Delphi, who came to Dallas early this morning to spend the day with us. She also knows Dallas pretty well, and it was much easier with her directing me to the restaurant tonight than trying to follow rdholmantx who changed lanes seemingly haphazardly... :p

A most wonderful day, all in all, and I'm almost sad to see the adventure coming to an end. I'm exhausted. I'm neither used to nor do I generally like socialising, but I've had the time of a life, and I will surely treasure those wonderful memories for many years to come.

There are some pics that didn't turn out well. I'll have to ask blue_paris to play around with them to make them sharper and will then post those as well. We also got to meet pern_dragon, who is absolutely lovely! We spent the afternoon at the Anatole, hanging out with and meeting quite a few people, who I've known by name or online for a while, and it was great.

Portus ends tomorrow and most people are leaving. We're staying another day to chill in the morning, then chill with rdholmantx in the afternoon, which possibly involves watching AR movies, then chill some more over dinner, hopefully with Amy Potterbrat. I've not managed to meet bambu345 *cries*, lariopefic, shellsnapeluver, or lulabelle72. I've heard rumours the latter three are staying tomorrow, too, and irishredlass69 let Lariope know that we're staying too, so maybe they'll join us some time tomorrow...

I have the first five. I've read all of them. Of course, I lent the first to a friend. If she doesn't give it back to me soon, I'll have to torch her house.

You know... I actually don't remember the last time I read for pleasure. LOL

I bought her first book when it came out, just to be supportive of a fellow fanfic writer, but I have about ten fiction books that are waiting to be read...

Believe me, this one is worth being at the top of your to-read list. And I'm not just saying that, being biased because I helped edit. It is a damn good story. Lots of plot that carries through all eight books. I can't wait till the last one comes out. I truly think it's her best.

I believe you. I find her writing improved a lot between FSS and In Annulo, and she realises it, too. We talked about that yesterday morning.

I will get around to reading them one day, honestly.
