Soccer again *sigh*. France, the team that barely scraped through the first round has just beaten Brazil, the current world cup champions. That throws out the window my previous thought of a final between Germland and Brazil. Okay, folks, Portugal or France in the semi? I'm still quite convinced that the Germs will be in the Final Battle. And my guess now is they'll face France. After all, in their match against England, Portugal didn't exactly have to pull all its tricks out of the hat to win.
On to the rest of the news:
hogwartshoney hasn't so far been able to see the launch of the Discovery, seeing that it was delayed. Damn! Sorry, hon, I'd been hoping for some fantastic pics of the launch! I swear I didn't do anything to delay it!
I'm extremely grateful to
southernwitch69 for agreeing to beta my very last minute entry to the Limerick Challenge! I probably won't make the deadline, seeing it's past 11pm and I've been up since about 7am, with no rest for the wicket in between, and the challenge ends at midnight, I hope US time. But alas, hopefully, it'll be up on TPP sometime tomorrow or the day after. Thankfully, no poll has been created yet.
And what with Germland in total soccer fever,
veradee you're either extremely courageous or simply crazy to go to Dortmund on Tuesday, LOL. I know I wouldn't have the guts.
It's fucking unbearably hot here. I never look forward to thunderstorms, but if the next one brings us some relief for a few days, I'll cope with the thunder.

Date: 2006-07-01 09:58 pm (UTC)But first we had to survive the battle against Italy. I'm sure it'll rain yellow cards.
The weather in Berlin is currently very tolerable, but we could need some rain.

Date: 2006-07-02 09:02 am (UTC)Germany : England would have been an ideal final. But alas, at least Germany still has a chance of being there!
I'm *willing* for the rain to come, but apparently it's not returning here till Tuesday. Blah. I don't like heat.

Date: 2006-07-01 11:34 pm (UTC)I have just come home from the England:Portugal game. I would have liked a Germany:England final, but it wasn't to be.
I so hope that it does not come down to France against Germany. My husband is (half)French, we would not be able to watch it together without arguing.

Date: 2006-07-02 09:05 am (UTC)Yah, I agree on the preference of German vs. English, that would have been fun.
Hm... Germany vs. Portugal then, maybe?
