Tearing my hair out

Having read some excellent advice and hints that
harmony_bites put together for new writers, I have spent the better part of today going through my original work, applying the advice, or trying to at least. I've reached page 14 and the manuscript is about 5k words shorter now. Hm.
I never realised that deleting lots of unnecessary words could be painful. *snerk* And the prologue really makes me want to tear my hair out because I just don't know how to do this entire thing without one. *grumble*
And the weather. Just. Sucks. I'm going swimming now.

Date: 2006-07-13 07:33 pm (UTC)*nods_enthusiastically* Harmony's posts on the craft are priceless. While reading through my script today, I was also quite pleased that I seem to do the right thing with POV, I don't switch, so that encouraged me. :-)
OMG, a shaken can of carbonated beverage! It brings some strange images to mind.
Thanks bunches for the weather wishes, I really need them; it's been so hot and stuffy here. But the water was blissful, I actually felt cold when I finally came out. What a novel feeling, lol. :-)

Date: 2006-07-13 05:42 pm (UTC)I want to go swimming, too, but I don't go the next public swimming baths because of all the foreigners.
Was da ab geht ist machmal absoluter Horror, und es ist überfüllt ohne Ende.
We used to go to the private swimming baths, but the price was raised to never known heights because the swimming club is now the only owner.
I could "jump" into our pond, but I think the goldfishs wouldn't think it's funny. LOL!

Date: 2006-07-13 07:54 pm (UTC)I know what you mean about public swimming pools - it's similar here, and we only ever went once. Now we tend to go to the more expensive place, which in the end isn't that much more because they allow up to 3 hours, and if you stay that long then it's only marginally more expensive than the public pools.
I think personally I probably wouldn't really care about the goldfish, just gimme some water to cool down in *snerk* Besides, goldfish apparently have really short memory, so they think it's normal that you're in there with them after about 30 seconds or so, LOL.
