What a wonderful day

We've not "celebrated" X-Myth in years. We tend to use it as an excuse to exchange more gifts than usual, or something special, is all.
This past year, some things were new. Like, I don't just have a brother, but I live within driving distance of him, and he visits every now and then, and we go see movies or just chill. Initially, we'd planned to go visit my niece for xmas, but he said a few weeks ago that he's probably not going. So I suggested we spend the holiday here, in our home, without too much hope that he'd agree. I mean, he's been spending all holidays with his daughter for years and years, and I didn't mind where we spend it, as long as I get to spend it with him, yanno? After all, we met kinda 40 years late, so I have some time to make up.
Anyways, we spent it together, here at home, and it's been an absolutely wonderful day. Like, best xmas ever. I'm so happy, I feel like I'm floating.
The kids are over the moon with their presents; each got a familiar, the older one an iguana, the younger one a tortoise. The iguana spends a good deal of the day on Sara's shoulder and arms; Cloud, the tortoise, likes exploring the kitchen and then goes to sleep underneath my laptop bag. They both like dandelion leaves best, which will give me a lovely excuse to go wild-crafting in the spring. I'm looking forward to that.
For now, I'm looking forward to my niece visiting on Friday, and Little Man's birthday on Saturday. ZOMG, he's gonna be ten years old! He wants to go for his self-defense lesson on Saturday morning, and then we're planning on going to the zoo. If it rains, we'll probably go to the planetarium, but hopefully, it'll stay dry.
