It's been a week

And that really sums it up. Most of Wednesday, the day after the encounter with The Tornado, was spent vegetating. I had no energy, and in the evening, we decided unanimously to go to Chili's for dinner. We enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the not-have-to-cook-anything-myself part because, well, I had no energy. The tornado took it all the day before and I needed a day or five to recuperate.
Thursday, we bought new shoes for Sara. I want new shoes, too, but she actually needed them. With the amount of training she does, it's no surprise she wore out her trainers in less than six months.
Friday, we went to Books-a-Million in the afternoon, then at midnight to the airport to pick Dorkboy up. Yay, it was two w/ends in a row he came home, and we all were very happy! Even though the w/end kinda just flew by and I don't know what happened to it!
Saturday morning, Little Man was testing for his Level 1 at self-defense. I video'd it, but haven't had a chance to even upload it to the computer let alone edit it. Tomorrow is another day. The w/end then became kinda busy. Little Man stayed at the center, and DB and I went home, both a bit tired. He managed to nap for a couple of hours, but I was too restless. Then he returned to the center, since Sara was attending a workshop in the afternoon there. I simply vegetated some more, watched youtube, knitted another sock, and generally relaxed.
Today, one of our friends came over for dinner, with his son, and a friend of Sara's also joined us. Yay. It was fun to have them around, we all had a good time, and DB outdid himself in the kitchen. All I cooked was the rice.
All this sounds very ordinary, but it was the first time we had people other than my brother over for dinner, and I'm getting the feeling that I'm actually settling down. Really. Novelty, that is!
DB is leaving in the morning again. Not only do I have to be up very early, but I now have two weeks to look forward to without him. No fun at all. Thankfully, his project in California is coming to an end, and we have hope that he'll be sent somewhere closer than that. No fun, having him only every other weekend for barely 48 hours. *grumbles*
I still haven't written anything substantial. Ah well. Tomorrow is another day.
I've heard from my aunt *is pleased*. She wants me to write her an email the length of a book. I'll have to work on that tomorrow.
I also have about a million beta jobs to do this week. Honestly, I'll get to them. This week has just been... nuts.
