Mission accomplished and Happy Equinox
Mar. 21st, 2005 08:54 pmOh what a glorious day it has been. Little One and I ventured off to London in the hope of getting everything done that was on today’s agenda. First, we went to the Embassy to pick up the kids’ passports. As I sat there waiting, I was starting to feel panicky, noon approached and it wasn’t even our turn yet. But alas, at 12.10, we had the passports in our hands, including the photographs they attached at shortest notice. So off we went, to the Pakistan Embassy, fully expecting to spend an hour or so in there, then having to come back later to pick up the passports with the visas. But no, the deities looked upon us very benevolently, less than an hour later we were out of there, and not only that, we had all visas in our passports and it only cost us half the amount expected, all because I’m married to hubby and the kids have a Pakistani father. I knew I’d find some positive aspect about a Pakistani passport in the family snigger. Our next stop was to meet hubby’s long time acquaintance, The Travel Agent. But not before we took some well deserved Lunch, at Capucetto’s again, where the coffee is heavenly and the food ain’t bad at all. We met The Travel Agent, handed over the dosh and had our tickets in our hands. He had managed the impossible: After we had spent a whole day last week in London trudging from one travel agent to another in the hope of finding a half-decent priced ticket, and another day on the phone trying to accomplish the same, to no avail, it took The Travel Agent barely 10 minutes to come up not only with nicely priced tickets, but at a much earlier date than we had dared hope. So we’ll be off on Easter Thursday.
The coach trip back home went uneventful and I better start packing right now.
