Well, strictly speaking, I'm nearly half an hour late. But... He was born in California, and after 8pm, so very strictly speaking, he's not eight years old until another few hours! What a blissful day it's been. He is a very happy eight year old guitarist right now *grin*, having picked up the chords in no time on his present. So now, all he wants to do is play the guitar. I'm very grateful. I really didn't like him playing that darn PS2, but thankfully, his interest returned to music. We even had a mini jam session today! Picking up one of the songs DB was playing on iTunes on the keyboard, I was able to show him the basic, very simple melody on the guitar, then DB joined in with his drum, and it was so much fun. :-)
Little One went out to town with his Dad and Sister around lunchtime, and I joined them later on. We visited Sausalito's, the better one of two tex-mex places in town, and we had fun and enjoyed the food muchly.
Of course, on my way to meeting the family in town, I simply had to stop at Saturn (it's kind of become compulsary by now), only to find a CD that had Beethoven's Symphonies 5, 6 and 9, performed by the Berlin Philharmonics conducted by Karajan. I can't say I like Karajan in particular, but he is the best where Beethoven works are concerned, especially the later recordings. That's my opinion, anyway. Feel free to leave a comment with suggestions! This one is the recording from 1977. Of course, my excuse is that the Beethoven works feature kind of heavily in Tracero, so I better get to know them inside out!
Sara put Brendel's Beethoven Sonatas on her iPod, for me to listen to. I soooooooo want an iPod!
