Today, the car didn't break down, aren't I lucky! The battery works a treat, just like it should. And for the first time this week, I managed to stop at Starbucks and indulge in some writing while acquiring three mosquito bites. It's been a mad kind of week so far, and I'm seriously looking forward to tomorrow when I don't have to go anywhere. Well, I guess I'll end up going to the bookstore because Little Man oh-so-urgently absolutely needs to know how the Septimus Heap series continues—he's read the first three in the course of a week—but at least that's local rather than involving a 35 mile round trip.
And... the Potter_Place Anything Goes Challenge is drawing to a close. From October 1st, no new submissions will be allowed, then readers have three weeks to catch up on all the entries before voting starts. I can't believe it's almost over. For me as well. I'm sad to see the fic done and dusted; it has grown very dear to me. On the positive side, that means I'll have time to continue with various other projects, like Without Magic. I'd really like to see it finished by the end of this year. High on the list of priorities is also my sweater I started last year. About three-quarters of the last sleeve to go and it'll be done. *wibbles*
It's still summery here, but nowhere near as bad as last year. We've had a week or so with below 80, and it's now gone up to mid-80s again, but the nights are positively cooler with around 60 now. And right now I have months of cooler, even cold weather to look forward to. Yay!
