So, there seems to be a new trend in the newbies' writing styles... Don't ask!

I figured I'd ask here what gets you or puts you off a fic...

Purple prose means stilted style, overly descriptive, and flowery. It typically refers to smut scenes. Throbbing member, the raging beast of his desire, nest of desire, globes, orbs, are typical examples. So I guess whilst it may not be your type of writing, you're more opposed to overly detailed descriptions in writing. I hear ya on that one, too. When it reads as if the author just wants to up the word count, it's time for me to use the back button.
