Well, chapter 8 of Damage Control has been accepted and is now posted at The Petulant Poetess: http://www.thepetulantpoetess.com/viewstory.php?sid=720&i=1
Chapters 1 and 2 of Outcast are also posted at The Petulant Poetess, and the link for chapter 3 (in queue at TPP) is below in the previous post.
Tomorrow we're going to find out what's involved in obtaining the visas for India, for Little One and myself. Dorkboy is going back to the UK at the weekend *sigh*. Just thinking about it makes me miss him something awful already... Alas, if India doesn't work out for whatever reason, then we'll join him pretty soon. In the meantime, our menagerie is growing. We are now fostering a parakeet. Her name is the Urdu word for 'sweet', but I'm terrible with such names, so I've taken to calling her Polly and she gives me The Look everytime I call her. Thankfully she appears to like classical music and just stares at me ruefully, and the moment I switch the music off she complains. Anyways, we made it clear to the family who gave her to us that we can only take her temporarily as we'll be leaving soon. Simba is another story. There is a friend of Little One, who will hopefully take him in. There are no such institutions as cat shelters here, so it's either sending him back to the wild which would absolutely break my heart, or finding a home for him. Considering that most people here kick any cat that comes too close to them... well, I won't think about it right now. I wish I could just ship him back with us, but that's not an option either, what with the stringent laws about importing animals into the UK...
Not much else to say, weather still warm and humid, no rain today, but it's started to cloud over, so there's hope. Pictures are posted two posts below. Yeah, been busy on here today, even though the net is as slow as it can get without actually crashing completely. :-)
