Sara and friend are watching the Brit Awards on TV. *Eek* to most of it. Was gonna say to all of it, but Brian May of Queen announced best rock act, and Franz Ferdinand won the award, which isn't as bad as previous years. That is entirely my very own opinion of course and I shall be good now again and return to writing, followed by reading and the second the Brit Awards are done I shall have to insist on an hour of Classical music, if only to recover from the trauma that Natasha and Daniel Beddingfield are right now imposing on my ears by slaughtering Chaka Khan's 'Ain't Nobody'. *SCREAM*
Okay, rant over, I shan't bore you with any more Brit Awards. Instead, I'll bore you now with the account of our day *smirk*. The kids had a field day. Little One had 3 boys visiting here, Sara cooked for their 2 mothers and her own mom, with almost no supervision. :-) It looks like we're going around the world, foodwise, last week was Mexican food, this week it was Japanese: Miso Soup (okay, I admit we cheated and used the packets), followed by Californian Sushi, entirely made from scratch by the new goddess of culinary delights, Sara. Followed by a vegetable stir-fry, although the terriyaki sauce was store bought. But our excuse is that we don't cook Japanese often enough to justify buying all the single ingredients of which we'd only use a fraction. Anyways, the food went down a treat with Joy and Rebecca, said mothers, as well as with me. They must have enjoyed the lunch, they arrived at 12.30 and left at 7pm. Hm.
***Warning*** am getting sidetracked by TV. Can't help it, honestly, what with the volume at that ear deafening level... Most of the females are actually wearing long skirts or dresses, no longer those obscene arse showing minis. Okay, the guys still haven't found their taste, mostly suits in dark colors which is fine, but seriously taste-challenged shirt colors, such as pink, or lime-green *shudder*. I won't even go into the ties *more_shudders*. Okay, now Robbie Williams is on and I'm feeling compelled to watch. I like him, okay? Nope, I don't find him attractive, let me assure you, I would throw him out of my bed if I found him there! But I like him. And I like some of his songs. He's far too young for me, ya know, I'm not a baby snatcher *snigger*. If Alan Rickman sees this, *ahem* I'll let you know my address by telepathy. :-) *Argh* see what a bad influence TV is? It should be banned, honestly.
Anyways, back to today. Besides much laughter, we've had a few honest conversations. Rebecca mentioned Kerry's lack of social skills compared to Little One's, but I think, well I hope at least, that I've put her worries to rest. Kerry had extremely little interaction with other children. He's been living here since he was 3 years old. Little One has lived in: California, North Carolina, Arizona, New Jersey and England and is a year younger than Kerry. He's also never been to school, whereas Kerry has only been out of school for just over a year. Besides moving a lot, we've also traveled a lot, so Little One developed the 'making_friends_easily' skill very early on. We visited 26 states while living in the US, and we talk to everyone willing to talk. So of course, he is as sociable as an adult.
Joy asked a million questions about all sorts of subjects. I felt like a medical dictionary at one time. :-)
Okay, I think I've written enough now for a day. Still have lots of work to do before I can go to sleep, ya know. So I'll say good night for now. :-)
