If in a sentence, a reference is made to the "subject line" of an e-mail, what would be the correct spelling? "Subject line", "subject line", or "Subject Line".

Example: There was no ticket number found in the Subject line, or the ticket number could not be parsed correctly.

Is "subject" and "line" capsed, not capsed, or is only "subject" capsed?

If you could help me solve this riddle, I'll be forever grateful because it is nagging me now.

Methinks, not capsed, but then I ain't no expert -- just a personal opinion.

To be honest, the few times I used that, I capsed only "subject". Nobody has yet complained about that, so I guess it's at least not wrong.

I guess I'm stupid but why should it be capsed? It's a normal English word, isn't it?

Not stupid at all because that was *exactly* my argument, too! Yes, it is a normal English word. The question was would it be capsed because it referred to the "subject line" of an e-mail, and if you look at any email program, it's always spelled "Subject".

Well, I looked it up at dict.cc and linguatec.net; it's not capsed, at both sides. Hope that helps.
