I was to say yes, when I remembered that I have hadall the HP books on my mp3 players for weeks, and have only listened to the first book. So, I guess I do prefer read fanfictions.
I prefer reading over listening anyway, but taking into account that many fanfics are quite bad, it's so much easier to hit the back button than to fast forward or delete stuff from your MP3 player or whatever. And who's going to read them in the first place? The authors?
I'm one of those who prefers to read over listening. But you'd have my mother hooked in a second. For me, looking at the words and savoring their arrangement and choice is paramount to my enjoyment.
Having said that... if you created it, I would listen to it!
I only listen to books in the car, with my children, mind. So, anything that I listen to must be 'kid friendly'. Therefore, I rarely listen to podcasts and fanfiction (which I often skim over the smut especially when it's poorly written) wouldn't be something that I'd do. There is some excellent fanfic out there, but I'd still much rather read than listen. My personal preference.

Date: 2006-09-02 05:57 pm (UTC)I'd rather read fanfiction. I never ever listened to a book, but I know I won't like it because I won't concentrate enough on listening.
I can't read in buses, etc. but that's not a problem because I listen to music and that's enough.
