... the keyboard placed close to the computer. No more need to shove it around all over the place.

... a centrally air conditioned home.

... a kitchen with enough working space to do proper cooking. *nods* The shrimp curry was divine.

... a Starbucks 2.5 miles away.

... one bookstore 2.5 miles, the other 15 miles away.

... 10 miles to go to the health food store which has an amazing variety of sprouts.

Yup, I'm one happy witch now that I sort of recovered from the stress that was The Move. ::makes note to self: do.not.ever.move.a.home.in.95.degrees.heat::

Congrats on a successful move and the new proximity to coffee, books, and health food - the necessities of life!

Necessities indeed! The availability of food (as opposed to chemicals that are labeled food) was something I sorely missed in the last six months. But no more *squeals*. Gotta love Wild Oats, LOL.

Ugh..hate moving...hate it. The last time I did I was 6 months pregnant with my eldest.

However once you find the perfect place! I have lived in my house for almost 7 years...and I have my Starbucks, Bookstore, and grocery store all within a 5 mile radius around my house..also the brand new school K-8th is almost done and is a two block walk from my driveway:D:D

Congrats on the new living space!!

Yeah, I'm with you, I hate moving as well. Even though from my history, one should think I love it, lol. I moved once when I was pregnant, too: from the UK to California, and I was eight months pregnant. Had to hide my bump from the airline, they wouldn't have let me onto the flight otherwise.

I haven't found the perfect place yet, but this will do very nicely for a couple of years at least, and hopefully until we can afford to buy land and build our perfect place.

Having a Starbucks close by is simply invaluable. Every time I'm stuck with writing, I visit and the words flow almost on their own, it's bliss. :-)

Sweet! Good for you!
:)
I can totally empathize about the move in high heat. We drove from Austin, TX to Las Vegas at the end of July 5 years ago, and a week later, when the truck arrived with our furniture, there was only the pair of us to unload that which we had several people to help load, including other manly men, instead of measly ol' me, to lift the uber-heavy over 7-feet-tall pharmacist's hutch with about 30 shallow drawers (and assorted other heavy furniture items and BOXES of books). *rolls eyes* Yeah, we bruised and battered ourselves a lot unloading and moving that stuff. LOL But, it was worth it. I'm glad your move has resulted in such contentment too. :)

That sounds so familiar *sigh*. It was just the two of us, and moving the sofa into the van and then out totally killed me, together with the humidity. When we lived in AZ, I used to snicker at the term "at least it's a dry heat", but I've really learned there's a huge difference between the desert dry heat and the humidity of the south. Alas, at least now the home is blissfully cool. A year ago, when we were in Germany, there was one single store that was air conditioned, and we'd flee there just to escape the heat, LOL.

Life is good. :-)

Aw, I'm sorry. Believe me, I know how you feel. We moved from Culture Central to the middle of nowhere in the Deep South! The highlight of the day was a visit to Walmart because they actually had more grocery choice than the other two tiny grocery stores. And bookstore and coffee were 90 miles away.

I don't mind the driving, but I don't take the humid heat very well, and I was suffering seriously, with the option of the room a/c blasting at such a volume that it hurt my head after a couple of minutes or sweating. *shrug* The main thing, though, is the proximity to the airport. With DB traveling in and out every other w/end and airlines being perpetually delayed by not just an hour but sometimes six hours and more as a rule, we really had to move closer to an airport. All the other perks are just side effects, LOL. :-)

Lucky you!!!!

I'm along the Texas coast--we consider it dry when the humidity is under 60%. I fully understand humid heat. It just sucks. I would take a dry heat (ala Arizona/New Mexico) over a humid heat b/c there, water will cool you off. Here it just creates more sweat. ;~)

The airport thing is understandable. I do live within about an hour of the airport--actually about 40 minutes, if there are no traffic snafus. Fortunately for me, none of my family have jobs that require distance traveling; although with the hubby's new job, he'll be driving more around the area. *sigh* And I bet your budget is thanking you for this move, as gas prices are moving up as much as they are.

My back is still hurting, but it really was worth it. I feel much more at home where there is some culture evident. :-) Memphis even has an opera house *squee*.

Come visit! :-) I sleep on the sofa when DB isn't home (which is 10 out of 14 days) anyways, so there's a queen bed and we have a couple of airbeds, too. It's not that far from you. And I'm sure Little Man would love some boy company, too!
