Sunday evening
Jul. 3rd, 2005 09:39 pmI'm feeling positively lazy, which might have to do with the humid weather. Yes, it's cooled down nicely, and now it's so humid, we still have umpteen showers a day. At least it's been raining a bit, too, although mainly at night. But the feel of rain on skin is wonderful. I've realized that a hot country is not for me. Still haven't got a clue how we managed to survive AZ for over two years, but alas, I must be getting old.
Would be nice to hear from my family again, they've been very quiet lately. Folks, it's not my fault that I hardly spend any time at the internet cafe, the net has been down half the time this week and when it's up, then it's so abominably slow it's unbelievable.
Dorkboy and the kids were watching Mission Impossible earlier on and I got grumpy over it. Not only did they hijack my iMac to watch it, but heck, couldn't they have watched something that I don't feel the urge to leave the room??? And after all the ranting I've done lately about TC *wrinkles_nose_in_distaste*...
Ah well. Things are moving slowly. Hopefully I'll have the visa sorted out sometime this week or next, so I'll actually be able to get back into the country if I decide to pop over to India.
Dorkboy might be going back to the UK within the next couple of weeks, with Sara following him shortly after. Little One and I will have a peaceful time traveling some. I hope. How peaceful can things be with a bouncy 7 year old...
Lately, some friends have asked me where we'll settle upon leaving here. The answer? I don't know. I tried so often in the last 8 years or so to settle down and it never worked. Now I've come to terms that I'm a gipsy, if not by heart then because it's imposed on me, I don't care either way. In any case, I don't care where exactly we'll settle down. Gimme a computer and internet access and a comfortable place, with bookshops and playgrounds and swimming pools not far away so the kids can have some fun, a cinema nearby, so we can all have some fun, and I'll be content.
That was my Word on Sunday. Das Wort zum Sonntag is usually broadcast on a Saturday night, but everyone knows that the Indian Subcontinent, which I'm currently gracing with my presence, works at a much slower pace. :-)
