Ricotta with herbs, very young manchego, tomato/basil/mozzarella salad, jar with feta, bowl with olives
Carpaccio, which Little Man loved to have when we stayed in Germany where it's very easily found. Not so here, at least not in Memphis. Dorkboy bought some beef filet at Whole Foods yesterday, grass-fed and free-ranged, and had it sliced at the meat counter. It was way too thick for carpaccio, so I placed each slice between two layers of wrapping and rolled over it with a rolling pin until it was the desired, paper-thin, thickness. Then I rubbed some garlic on it, cut it into bite-size pieces and arranged on a plate. Added virgin olive oil, the juice of a fresh lemon, salt, black pepper, some fresh oregano and lemon basil, and some parmesan shavings. They ate all of it, so I guess it was acceptable. ;)
In other news, I woke up hoping to finish my exchange entry today. Instead, I wrote 0 words. *sighs deeply* I'm still hoping, as usually the time after midnight is the best for me to write. Wish me luck.
