The attacks on London in themselves are absolutely disgusting and shocking. I have no other words for it. What I find most disconcerting about the whole thing is the fact that they were not avoided. London, including underground stations, trains, buses etc is almost if not totally covered by CCTV. Why is it that every package that is unattended for the shortest of time is subject to controlled explosion, every ticket cheater gets picked up in absolutely no time, all courtesy of the full cctv coverage, the praise for which from official channels is neverending. I know it's the case, I lived in London long enough, through the height of the IRA bombings, and I know enough people who lost their handbags or briefcases because they left them unattended for a mere minute or two. But those highly praised CCTV cameras cannot pick up 4 (four!!!) bombs in 4 different places? Something smells fishy here I'd say.
