*Argh* I don't like Germany. It was snowing this morning when we woke up. Then it continued to snow when we took a taxi into the town centre because the roads are blooming slippery. Yep, they don't put anything down on the roads, because it would hurt the environment. It's more environmentally friendly to have people break their arms and legs. *Ahem* If you're so worried about the environment stop screwing it in every way, but don't make me break my legs. Honestly! *exasperated_sigh* They don't care about the environment when it comes to slaughtering, or mass production of meat, or using nasty pesticides when growing greens! So what is it with using salts to make pavements accessible???
So we went into town, where thankfully most of the roads was clear, not because of salt, but because of masses of people. The only reason I had agreed to join the family to hit the town was because I thought everyone else would stay at home, so the shops would be empty. But no, the Germans are not afraid of snow or ice, and evidently not of crowds, either. They simply use their elbows to get where they want to get. Gimme a break! I'm used to the polite Brits, or the laid-back Americans, I am not used to humans using their elbows!!! Dorkboy reckons I managed a new record in uttering insults, and he might be right. But honestly, what happened to manners??? I'm not talking about being polite here, but simple manners that make EVERYBODY's life easier, simple courtesies, and no, I'm not talking about someone holding the door open for me, either, I know I can't expect that from Germans. But can't they keep their elbows to themselves, rather than pushing everyone aside with them, and instead simply say 'sorry can I get through please'? Nope, not Germans. Anyways, 'nough about them *looks_disdainfully_down_on_these_mannerless_people*.
Back to the snow rambling. Yes, it continued snowing all day. Thankfully I found some pure new wool fabric at cut price, and some reasonably priced silk for lining, so I'm going to sew myself a warm cloak. I wore Dorkboy's coat today, and I concluded I do not like coats or jackets anymore. The cloak is so much more comfortable.
I also sent off Chapter 2 of Without Magic to NSS and am feeling rather accomplished, since I'm already about a thousand words into Chapter 3, and that's a conservative estimate based on handwriting into my notebook as I'm currently typing in WordPad *sigh*. So there. One can write if one puts one's mind to writing. But it's just as well, because I will get that cloak done before this cold spell is over. So that will cut into my writing time, unless I spend some sleepless nights, in which case I'll be grumpy and everyone around me suffers *smirk*.
Little One is absolutely ecstatic about the snow. It's been years since he's seen proper snow, and he probably doesn't even remember, he was not even two years old when we went to Minnesnowta one early March.
Anyways, I better go, I'm being forced to be social, we're having two dinner guests *looks_disdainful*
