Snatched from [livejournal.com profile] ginny_weasley31:

If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fan fiction, or, NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence (or more) from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).

Without Magic - Chapter IX
She looked at him and thought smugly, He clearly isn’t at his sharpest—I wonder what’s up with him. Aloud, she said, unable to hide a grin, “Um, Severus, how do you usually communicate with him?”

Severus looked startled for a moment, before his face took on a positively sheepish expression. “Damn,” he muttered. “I think the sudden increase of magic has addled my brain.”

Tracero (Original Work)
When they reached the others, Gipsy was greeted with awe, enthusiasm and affectionate teasing, which helped her dispose of the unease she had been feeling mere minutes ago.
‘Oh Wise One, how did your first meeting go?’ Healer asked, her face full of happy admiration for her friend.
Sophisticat wanted to know, smirking, ‘How does one feel now one has achieved cronedom?’
Moonchild unwrapped herself from Croco’s arm and hugged her. ‘It’s so great to be back and to see you! It feels like I haven’t seen you in ages.’
Gipsy looked fondly at her friend. ‘It has been ages, Moonchild! You had been on assignments the last two times I returned, and each time, I went off again before you returned! I’ve missed you.’
‘I can’t say I missed you.’ Moonchild laughed. ‘It’s a good thing that temporary amnesia comes with each assignment, it was bad enough missing Croco at the end.’ And with a wistful tone, she added, ‘I think I’d have gone crazy if I’d remembered all of you...’

Something untitled as yet that I'm not sure will shape into anything, although if it does, it will not be the written word

I’m not one to seek attention, but I feel it is time that the events must be told as they happened, not shrouded by heroism as happened days after the final battle in the Daily Prophet, not falsified by the glamourising report by Witch Weekly, not in the sneering way purebloods who still cannot accept that a mere mudblood helped defeat their lord depicted it, and certainly not by someone who sees me as their heroine. All those points were reason enough for me to turn my back on the wizarding world.

Oooh! I'm really intrigued by your untitled, and liked your name selections for Tracero.

::feels guilty she hasn't caught up on so much of her reading::

Intrigued? Really? I don't know if it shapes up to anything. My original idea was to write a short piece that could be read, with a variation of the HP theme playing in the background. Alas, I'm still experimenting with it. :-)

The names for Tracero took an incredibly long time to get them just right. The story takes place in different "universes" (for lack of better description), and the bit posted depicts their true names, in their home universe. I find it quite fascinating to create an entirely new world and write about it, although it is still a long way to go before I can even consider querying. But I'd like to present an acceptable work rather than rush it, which isn't easy for me, seeing that my middle name is Impatience. :-)

I love the idea that you're experimenting with a multi-media story. Very innovative!

Hmmm, multiple universes being woven into an intriguing plot? What's not to love about that? I'm delighted you're taking your time to get it just right. Excellent, Ms Impatience!

Oooh, pretty icon, my friend.

::blushes:: I'm not sure if it's innovative. I just had the thought one day, after watching loads of fan videos on yourtube, and there was this one video that stood out to me -- because it actually had written words on the screen. :-)

Even though I've been writing since I've been able to put letters together, I'm never sure about my works. I'd love, one day, to see just hundreds of reviews, even though I know it's not really right to judge a story by the number of reviews. I guess I need to work on my attitude there, LOL.

The icon is a gift from [livejournal.com profile] remusseverus. It's been a wonderful day for gifts; first I woke up to Jen's gift of an icon, then checked the new [livejournal.com profile] phoenix_sshg posts and found a gifted icon for it from [livejournal.com profile] brandi1498, and later on banners from [livejournal.com profile] ellaselenelupin. Thankfully, [livejournal.com profile] remusseverus has posted the affiliations on our profile page, she's very clever with that sort of thing.
